Statement by Congressman Rob Menendez on NJ TRANSIT’s A&C Bus Line and Coach USA Route Announcement

“I applaud NJ TRANSIT and the New Jersey Department of Transportation for working with our office and Congressman Payne’s, as well as local elected officials and community leaders, to ensure that residents of Jersey City, Newark, and Elizabeth will continue to be served following the discontinuation of service on several routes currently managed by A&C and Coach USA.

“NJ TRANSIT’s new and extended bus routes will ensure that working families in these Eighth Congressional District communities will still be able to get to where they need to go, whether it is work, school, grocery shopping, or the many other places that they rely on available bus service to travel to. 

“Last week, I spoke with United States Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg directly to request additional support for state and local governments that are navigating private bus company closures and transit deserts. I will continue to work within Congress and with the Biden Administration on these critical solutions.”
