EAST NEWARK, NJ – Today, Congressman Rob Menendez and East Newark Mayor Dina Grilo announced $1,031,000 in Community Project Funding to enhance public safety and protect residents across the Borough. The funding, secured by Congressman Menendez in an annual appropriations bill, will replace aging public safety equipment, technology, and vehicles, and support infrastructure upgrades.

East Newark’s public safety equipment and infrastructure enhancement project aims to replace aging public safety equipment, technology, and vehicles, and support infrastructure upgrades. These enhancements will provide local law enforcement with the necessary tools they need while working to keep East Newark safe.
Congressman Menendez secured $1,031,000 for this project through the appropriations process as part of $19,142,000 in federal funding that he is delivering for our communities this fiscal year.
Menendez will continue to push for federal funding for local law enforcement in an effort to keep communities across the state safe.
