Statement by Congressman Rob Menendez on President Biden’s Executive Orders to Keep Families Together

June 18, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Menendez attended the 12th Anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program at the White House and released the following statement on President Biden’s announcement of the Executive Orders that provide affirmative relief to undocumented immigrants:

“I applaud President Biden for making the changes necessary to protect undocumented immigrants who are integral members of our communities. These executive orders reflect our nation's values of compassion, inclusivity, and justice.

“The President is keeping families together by providing a pathway to citizenship and work visas for undocumented spouses and children of American citizens, as well as for Dreamers and undocumented college graduates. The Biden Administration's new Executive Orders recognize immigrants' contributions and ensure they can continue to live, work, and thrive alongside their loved ones and neighbors.

“As a Co-Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ Immigration Taskforce, I am committed to working with the Biden Administration and House Democrats to ensure these policies are implemented effectively and to continue advocating for immigration reform that honors our heritage as a nation of immigrants.”
