Menendez Statement on Passage of Republican Budget

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Representative Rob Menendez (NJ-08) released the following statement on the passage of the Republican budget that takes healthcare and food assistance away from millions of Americans:

“The House GOP just passed a terrible bill that includes the biggest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in our country’s history. But here’s what I saw during each marathon, middle-of-the-night debate: House Democrats were united. In every committee, in every moment, we stood up for those we represent, and we uplifted their stories. We let not just our constituents, but every American know we’ll always have their back. So, while the outcome of today’s vote is admittedly disappointing, the fight continues. Hard work is good work, and we will keep pushing until we get to those better tomorrows - together.”
