Congressman Rob Menendez Announces Inaugural Youth Advisory Council
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Rob Menendez today announced his inaugural Youth Advisory Council for high school students from across New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District.
“I am thrilled to launch the Youth Advisory Council as part of our efforts to support our next generation of leaders,” said Congressman Menendez. “This is a unique opportunity for high school students across our district to provide their input on the key issues impacting their future, while also learning about the work we do in Congress. We look forward to selecting our inaugural Council and to embark on this new initiative.”
Youth Advisory Council student participants will:
- Meet with Congressman Menendez to learn about his work in the House of Representatives;
- Provide input on issues that impact them, including climate change, gun violence prevention, immigration, and affordability in higher education;
- Sit down with our staff to learn about Congressional processes and resources; and
- Present a final project that encompasses their vision on a particular issue and what they have learned during their time on the Council.
Applications for high school students will be made available on our website at https://menendez.house.gov/youth-advisory-council on Wednesday, November 8th and will be due by Friday, December 22nd. More information will be provided for students on our website.
