Our communities are a hub for all modes of transportation - not only in the Northeast, but the nation at large.
Our public transportation system must meet the current and future needs of our workforce,
communities, and economy. While there have been significant investments in our infrastructure through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), our nation is still facing issues with supply chains, outdated equipment, and crumbling infrastructure that was not built for the 21st Century.
We must continue to invest in projects such as the Gateway Program – the largest critical infrastructure project in the country – which runs through the district. It is essential that funding for Gateway is maintained and the project is completed on-time. That’s why I’ve led efforts in the House to hold the Trump Administration accountable for its efforts to needlessly withhold that funding for partisan purposes.
I believe in making these investments because our residents deserve best-in-class public transit options and because our nation’s infrastructure is a reflection of our collective will to do big, bold things in this country.
