Transportation and Infrastructure
New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District is a hub for all modes of transportation - not only in the Northeast, but the nation at large.
Our public transportation system must meet the current and future needs of our workforce, communities, and economy. While there have been significant investments in our infrastructure through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act(IIJA), our nation is still facing issues with supply chains, outdated equipment, and crumbling infrastructure that was not built for the 21st Century. As a Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am proud to invest in our country’s future by working to improve our nation’s infrastructure.
We must continue to invest in projects such as the Gateway Program – the largest critical infrastructure project in the country – which runs through the district.
I believe in making these investments because our residents deserve best-in-class public transit options and because our nation’s infrastructure is a reflection of our collective will to do big, bold things in this country.
I am also fighting the negative impacts that helicopter noise pollution has had on many areas of the District by advocating for the National Park Service (NPS) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to designate Liberty State Park as an avoidance area for helicopter traffic, and by introducing the Communities Before Air Tourism Act.
