Our children and grandchildren deserve a healthy and livable planet. But right now, the Trump Administration and congressional Republicans are gutting environmental protections, slashing funding for climate change initiatives, and turning their backs on the work we’ve done and must continue to do to ensure that we are leaving a better planet for our future generations.
On the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I’ve voted against harmful cuts to key climate and energy programs and anti-environment bills that would raise costs for our families and makeour planet less livable. And as the representative of environmental justice communities that have borne the cost of fossil fuels and industrial pollution for far too long, I am fighting for a clean energy economy that keeps costs low, generates good paying jobs, reduces our dependence on extractive industries, and ensures that frontline communities share in and lead our transition to net-zero.
