Congressman Rob Menendez Introduces Resolution Creating National Latino Gastronomic Cuisine Week

September 24, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Yesterday, amidst the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Congressman Rob Menendez (NJ-08) introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives designating the week of September 23rd, 2024 as ‘National Latino Gastronomic Cuisine Week.’

“I’m proud to represent New Jersey’s 8th District, one of the most diverse regions of our state and an area rich with Hispanic culinary traditions,” said Congressman Rob Menendez. “This resolution celebrates these traditions and recognizes the role they play in creating vibrant, inclusive, and diverse communities.”

The resolution recognizes the global culinary influences of Latino cuisine and the role it has played in shaping America’s food culture, and encourages federal support for future culinary programs, educational initiatives, and local businesses that promote Latino gastronomic traditions.
